Bush Recalls 9/11 Leadership with Victim Relatives
By Steve Holland
MANCHESTER, N.H. (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) on Friday appeared with relatives of some Americans killed on Sept. 11, 2001, and vowed the country "will not be held captive by fear" in a message intended to remind voters of his leadership in that tense period.
"As long as I am the president we will be determined and steadfast and we will keep the terrorists on the run," Bush told thousands of supporters in a hockey arena in New Hampshire, a state he won in 2000 but is in danger of losing to Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) on Tuesday.
Indicating that we won't keep terrorists on the run if he isn't elected. Double meaing.
Among family members who joined the president at the rally was the father of Todd Beamer, who was on board the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania after a passenger uprising believed led by Beamer.
"As we fight the terrorists, they will try to frighten us, they will test our will with their barbaric tactics. We must be resolved. So long as I am the president we will not be held captive by fear," Bush said.
Sounds like he's the one using fear. Listen to Cheney, he is predicting doom and gloom too. Is Bush directly responsible for the missing 386 tons of explosives in Iraq? Yes and no. If we didn't go into Iraq we would know where they would be. I just don't like the attempt to cover it up before even getting the facts.
I'll be just as critical of Kerry if he get's in the office.
