Resmelling the memories.
I just walked back to the lab to get a print out and walked through an invisible wall of memory. The smell of french fries from the school cateteria. However, unlike the warm fuzzy walk down memory lane that an 80's song gives me from time to time, I got the gripping nausea of actually being back in high school walking into the cafeteria. Worrying about too much homework, tests, how I was gonna get some money, when I was gonna have sex. Those aren't in any type of order but it looks like in retrospect they are reversed as to the importance to me back then and coincidently, now but I don't feel like retyping that sentence.
Unless you are wise beyond your years. You won't have the same rose-colored glasses look I can get sometimes thanks to my iPod's huge library of 80's music. Those still in school or just out of it won't know how this feels until they are working for a number of years, got married, had a few kids and then realize that yes, the high school years look pretty damn good from this side of the fence.
