ear job

I am wearing headphones plugged into my desktop computer at work. If I shake my head or wiggle the wires there isn't a problem but as soon as I stand up I not only hear static crackle but feel little static dischargeing in my ears. It's loud and a bit painful. I'm a bit freaked out by this. I just plugged the same head phones into my laptop and expereinced the same problem yet it occurs at a different distance from the ground. There is radar and other R&D stuff happening at work. Hmm, what kind a background radiation or EMF am I getting here.
