I have a tube of Chap stick, actually many tubes. I lose one and the next time I'm at a store I buy a pack of two. Usually Cherry or the natural ingredient version. Sometimes I pick up a Blistx if I can't find Chap Stick. This winter I find a black tube of Chap Stick that doesn't have any flavor printed on it's side. It looks vaguely familiar. So I buy it and throw it in my pocket. Later during dry winter months and my lips feel like they are slowly roasting I find the black tube of Chap Stick and open it up and take a sniff. I immediately brought back to my childhood around the age of 10 when my mom spread this stuff on my lips thinking I'd enjoy the smell and taste of Vaseline or it's naturally occurring counterpart whale ass. Wyeth got wise sometime in the 80's by my guess and started with experimenting different flavors of Chap Stick. Why they still make the 'ole fashion' version is beyond me. The newer versions make me question my manhood from time to time thinking, is this lip gloss? But only for a second. Blistx solves this question but I still have a soft spot for Chap Stick. It serves me as a reminder of a simpler time of my childhood. Is this why they kept this version of Chap Stick alive? It certainly isn't the taste/smell. What ever the reason, thank you.
