On the way home last night I stop at Taco bell since I was in the mood for a little border action. There were 3 cars ahead of me and the one right in front of me was a suburban/tahoe big suv with about 3 or 4 teens about 18 or 19 years of age. On the passenger side of the car at the window where you get your food there is a yellow steel pole sticking up usually filled with concrete. The poles are normally placed in parking lots to keep cars from running into the door ways or walls. WaWa employees them often. This particluar pole is in a sorry state, it's been hit and is not at a very good angle. Maybe a 45 degree angle is my best guess without a sliderule and a level. The problem is the suv driver is up high and this pole is down low. You can see what happen next.... He grabs his food and makes a hard right to exit the slightly curved curb on the left and ramps up this pole. His tires go up about 2 or 3 feet in the air before the tire slips off the pole and his suv literally bounces off the bottom of the suv and it basically teetering on the pole. He trys to go foward, no luck, the tires are lifted off the ground just enough to spin and make a rubbing noise on the asphalt. He trys reverse breifly and I can only imagine the grating noise he heard and the pole moved a inch into the oil pan or front suspension. They were stuck.
Wow. That was fun. Everyone piled out and was looking under the suv. The driver was like 'omg'.
I inched up to the window and payed for and grabbed my food. "Your not gonna be able to get by". Yes I can I told him. I backed up a couple of feet and went over a high curb in my jeep and motored off. : ) Poor kid, he just learned a valuable lesson and no one had to get injured. Always pay attention.
