The original post was removed for some reason. It wasn't negative towards Microsoft or Live, it was just a list of people who would like to have their voice heard to increase the list beyond the 100. I would love to know the reason why the original one was deleted but it's a side note to the real questions.
Major Nelson in podcast #209 acknowledged that gamers were asking for a larger friends list but quoted %'s and numbers as to why it wasn't being considered. I think enough people would benefit from it.
Podtacular podcast #125 had a recent episode that brought up this same issue. They all felt as passionate as I do as to at least reconsider the option that some of the more active gamers on Live and who might belong to a gaming group or two would really benefit from having a friend's list increase.
There were other ideas that other's suggested in the former thread but alas it was removed.
My thoughts for me, no comments or opinions other than mine. This is not a social site.

Friends list limitation of 100 to severe for the hardcore/invovled gamers
I'm putting my post to the xbox.com forums here to document it in case it's deleted again.
