My oldest son is going to be 11 next month. He is constantly using my wife's desktop or her laptop. Mainly visting Lego, bionicle or Pokemon related web sites and occasionally drawing or writing. I decided after reading how MS is going to lock down Vista and how many issues I've had w/ XP updates and viruses to build a desktop with Linux for my son's first computer. It may not be soon but even my next system will be at least dual booting. I've already converted an old Dell Inspiron 4000 laptop to Unbuntu. The only problem I've have w/ Unbuntu so far is the damn wireless setup. I'm using an older pcmcia linksys card.
