Fished the Dam in the poconos and had a ball, even though we had to row back because my battery died. Huge lake that was drained so that the high water mark was 30+ feet or more over our heads. It was amazing how much water was drained. I caught a large chain pickerel and a whole bunch of small perch. Lots of action, smoked 3 cigars and enjoyed the colors of autumn on the bank. I even sucked it up and brought my 30D and got some great photos. Next time we go, I'm bringing a 2nd battery.
That night we went on the local's haunted hayride. Everyone agreed last year's was better but the amount of fire they used in the woods that have been dry would have gotten me worried if it wasn't held at a firehall. At one point they had this huge blow torch that shot flames out about 4 feet in front of it and it was waved over our heads lighting up the night. Remember we are sitting on hay. My favorite part was looking up at the sky on the way back and looking at the stars in between stars in between the stars that you can see. Very little light pollution. While looking up at the sky I saw a shooting star. :-)
I love the texture to this stump.
